Website maintenance
A live website needs care after the build. Maintenance can cover updates, checks, backups and small improvements, with the actual responsibilities agreed for your platform and business.
Discuss your project ↗The scope
Work we can discuss.
From a new website to an existing site that needs attention, here’s how I can help.
- Platform-appropriate updates and checks
- Agreed backups and restore arrangements
- Routine maintenance and minor improvements
- Clear change records
- Separately scoped larger changes
Review the starting point
Before taking on an existing site, I look at its platform, access, dependencies and current condition. That helps separate routine care from repair work that needs its own project. A site that is already compromised needs recovery before ordinary maintenance.
Agree the recurring work
For a WordPress site, maintenance may involve core, theme and plugin updates with appropriate checks. Other platforms need different work. We also agree backup arrangements and which kinds of content or functionality changes fall within the service.
Keep changes understandable
Updates should be accompanied by appropriate verification and a record of meaningful changes. Bigger redesigns, new features and substantial fixes can be scoped separately. Working arrangements and response expectations are agreed directly.
